Blakeslee Brook in Fall

Blakeslee Brook in Fall

Deep in a ravine, Blakeslee Brook winds through our 26 acre property.  This was done in fall during the last of the days when painting outdoors in Ohio is possible.

Pool with Rocks Blakeslee Ravine

Just at the point Blakeslee Brook joins the Ashtabula River, this scene is worth the hike into the ravine.  Caught at the end of the summer, this rendering captures the diffuse light and reflections found under the shelter of the overhanging branches.

Lake Shore Park, Ashtabula, Ohio

Lake Shore Park, Ashtabula, Ohio

Lake Shore Park is one of the treasures of the Ashtabula shoreline.  The park offers trails, pavilions, a beach for swimming and even a disc golf course.  This is a view of the main pavilion painted from the top of the park. A stiff summer breeze turned the lake into a multitude of colors. Painted on site.

Old Mossback

Old Mossback

Legend has it that Lake LeBoeuf in Waterford, Pennsylvania contains a muskie that is too wily to be caught.  Fishermen swear they have spotted this six-foot long monster but no one has ever managed to catch him.  He is illustrated here with hooks and lures hanging from his jaw including the famed LeBoeuf Creeper.  Prints are available.
