Done for a cookbook published by Northern Ohio Illustrators Society, this illustration shows all the necessary ingredients for a traditional holiday beverage for the Bacon family holiday celebrations.

Pen and ink with watercolor. Anax Junius, One of the many species found on our property. The abdomen should have brighter turquoise blue on its sides, but I drew from a preserved specimen and they soon fade.
This biplane with floats is now over 100 years old. You can see the linkages from the steering column to the tail and wings—very cool! You can see it at the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum in Cleveland.
This is the one you hear each summer buzzing the lazy warm days away. If you catch one it's like holding a cell phone vibrator with legs and wings—hence the name "jitterbug".
